    Sig p226 Grip Question

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

I've got a Sig P226 and was wondering if I could add on the P226 Black Polymer grips (http://shop.sigsauerguns.com/Accesso...w-Magwell.html) that you see on the Sig P226 Tacops models and use the extended round magazines with them.

Can I use the X5 Nill grips on a regular Sig P226 model?

    Thanks

Yes, magwell grips will fit on the regular P226. If you legally have extended magazines that fit with the magwell grips then you could use them, but I think they didn't start making those magazines until recently...

X5 grips will not fit. The X5s are SAO with a safety and no decocking lever. There is no cutout for the decocking lever in the grips.

There is an exception that X5 AllAround grips might fit, but I have not tried it. I know that to fit regular 226 grips on an AllAround you need to make some extra cuts in the grips. I have not tried it to see if the AllAround grips are still secure on the regular P226 pistol.

Why not just get Nills for the 226 instead of trying to get X5 grips to fit? http://mactec-militaryarms.com/ss0458.html

Thanks unusedusername, I was looking to pick up the Tactical Operations model because of the extended magazines and the higher capacity since it was recently approved for use for my department. I have a stainless elite and figured that if I could just add on the magwell grip to the stainless elite I could go from 15+1 to 19+1. That would give me a little extra capacity without having to buy a whole new pistol.

I'll be ordering the P226 Polymer grips...Thanks again for the information.
