    Lower AR's Help please.

Looking to buy like 3-4 lower AR's. What is the best and cheapest route. Would like to build my 3 month old girl a pink AR and have one for my son. If I get them complete do I have to buy one each month for dros? If I bought 80%'s would it be easy to make them 100%? Thanks for any info.

Cheapest route would be to buy them all at the same time because they could all go on the same $25 DROS fee. The 1 in 30 only applies to new, or FFL inventory, handguns.

80% is easy depending on where you live. You can buy 5 lowers on one DROS.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

An 80% doesn't have to be DROS'd. It's cash and carry. A 100% lower, stripped or complete, on the other hand, does require a DROS and 10 day jail. There is no limit on how many you can buy at a time for either.

The only issue with an 80% is finding someone with the right tools, like bassbones said. Look around though, it's not too hard to find someone hosting a build party where you can finish out your 80%'s.

If you think you need 3-4, I will suggest buying 5-6 at the minimum. Buying 100% receivers will be the cheapest route to go.

If you can get lowers shipped from an online source, Surplus Arms has a 3 pack for $240 + shipping. http://www.surplusammo.com/saa-ar15-...-sa-15-3-pack/
You may not like guns, and choose not to own one. That is your right. You might not believe in God. That is your choice. However, if someone breaks into your home, the first two things you're going to do are, 1) Call someone with a gun, 2) Pray they get there in time.

I would buy all the lowers at the same time so you dont have to DROS 3 seperate lowers, if you go that route. Let the hunt begin!
