I saw that stuff last time I was at Walmart, kinda surprised me, never heard of that before I saw it. I'm sure it would shoot bad from my 1-7 barrel, though.
The actual value of above $.02 is less than $.01 after taxes.

I wish my local store sold XM855...

I guess I will need that (another) can soon, it's 2012!

        What makes you say that?

Coincidentally someone on this board shot that stuff through his BCM upper (1-7 I presume...) and it mysteriously stopped working @ 300 rounds:

I'd stay away from it. Shotgun or pistol are better for home defense anyway.

I've heard, read and been adviced against shooting 45 grain ammos on a 1/7 twist. But that was after I already bought a few boxes of 223 Win 45 grain varmint rounds, that was the only available ammo I could find at Wally world at the time. Bulk pack (100/box) was about $37. It was said the light round has a good chance of either keyholing or fragmenting as soon as it gets out of the barrel. Lucky me I guess, I've shot it at 100 yards with no issues. I still keep a few rounds for HD.

I had just always read that even 55gr is supposed to be at the light end for 1-7.

Why cant they sell that near me?

I thought they started making it for people to shoot in indoor ranges.

No it was developed for military and LEO so you shoot the suspect and it doesnt keep going through Bad guy through walls and hurt a innocent bystander

the other reason is our goverment doesnt wannt lead ammo anymore so frangible is a bi metal and nylon ( I think) but same knock down power of a lead ball fmj thats how I understand it I could be wrong tho
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. It's for that sudden increase of prairie dog home invasion crimes.
