    AR-15 w/out bullet button buying

Hey guys I was wondering if I could order an Ar-15 w/out the bullet button and then convert it my self.
I wan to buy a Del Ton TRX but they don't have a California compliant one so that's why I'm asking.

Only if the upper and lower are seperated. Or if its shipped in featureless.

I'm pretty sure it has to be done outside of ca unless your ffl can deal with AW's but I could be wrong.

Usually done with a middle man ffl who installs the bb I believe.

It can be shipped in two seperate boxes to the ffl. One for upper and one for lower. Ar15 lowers can have the mag release when shipped alone because you can legitimately put a .22lr upper on it. Do not ship them in the same box. I know there isnt a constructive possession clause but that is cutting it way close.

Also, why take chances, just have the shipper pull the mag release too. Why risk 5 seconds of work for a felony.

if u have the upper sent to u and the lower sent to a ffl. would he have to be over 21 since its just a lower.
also if u go this route make sure to have the bb installed before u attach the upper back on

Yes, he would have to be 21 to buy the complete lower.

I think if the ffl is an 07 you could sell the upper to them. And then they could assemble the rifle and sell it to you as a complete rifle. Lots of hoops ha ha ha But I am reasonably sure that this is possible.

mag release removed or bb installed before ffl receives it.

If the rifle ships complete the BB must be installed before it arrives in CA. Also if you decide to have a complete lower only shipped, check with your FFL if they will accept it without a BB. Even though the law says you don't need a BB some FFL's will still require it.

                        Pretty much this.

Either build your own and buy a parts kit which doesn't come with a BB and go featureless or buy one separated which most shops will not do for some reason.. Already asked for another reason a while back.. Some might but most won't.

Some FFl's can do it, but if not, just go through LAN world in Utah
