    Optometrist that is Shooter Friendly

I live in the Sacramento area and need a good optometrist that knows and deals with the needs of shooters.

I have progressive lenses and I'm left eye dominant. I'm right handed and have adjusted to shooting pistols.

I've now gotten into distance shooting with a scoped rifle and my current glasses are not ideal. I do wear progressive contact lenses from time to time.

I'd like to see an eye doctor who deals with the needs of shooters. If anyone knows of a good Optometrist in the Sacramento to Vacaville area and can recommend one I would appreciate it.

I belong to VSP so if he/she is in the network that would be best.

    Thanks.

I don't think there are any. An optometrist is there to help you see better but I don't think your going to find one that specialized in shooting. Just find a good doctor and get Lazily done.

There was thread here about a year ago that had dr. in the Sacramento area that was a shooter. He was supposed to specialize in helping shooters. I'm sorry I don't remember the name.

I know a good optometrist up here in Auburn. Would be about an hour drive from Sacramento.

Google Norman Wong for an article he did for the NRA magazine.

Just got a new R/X for my new shooting glasses this weekend. Discussed my issues and I was done in 20 minutes. Most don't carry much in the way of true "shooting glasses." He only had sports-related frames or industrial safety glasses. A friend suggested I buy the frames online and take them into Lens Crafters (or similar) and get lenses done. He suggested U.S Cavalry.

Drop me a line if you ever come down south, (west covina area) or visit redwood city, east of palo alto.

How is telling him to look for an optometrist in SF even close to a hint? You know there's more than 1 optometrist there, right?

I know a CalGunner dentist, but not an optometrist.
