Looks real good. I generally don't like it but for some reason on this one I do. I have 2 moss 500's and may do this to one of them. Good job

I was just thinking. Did it really need to strip the original finish off it to bare metal? I think I would have left it on for added protection. I dont know. Just a thought. Nice job!

Looks good. Is the Krylon paint high heat like a BBQ paint?

No, that's why I did a cheap shotgun vs an AR . We'll see how it holds!

I was at a gunshop recently and the guy behind the counter had Krylon'd a $3500 338Lap long-range competition gun. I figured if he could do get away with it there, I could get away with it on a shotgun. I know people are painting stuff around engines with it.

                  I like it.

Been considering doing that to my 10/22 all weather. Didn't know Krylon had the Fusion in tan. Supposedly the Fusion bonds to the plastic & won't peel off.

Thanks for posting. Think I'm gonna go for it.

Looks like you shot the black through one of those rubber kitchen shelf liners?

Pretty decent outcome. How much did you spend on everything?

$7 * 2 for the Krylon Fusion Camo (Tan/Brown). $7 for the over-priced degreaser (I've been told it's the same as brake cleaner). $199 + Tax & DROS for the Shotgun. 2 pieces of 220 sandpaper and shop towels were in the garage. Since I didn't use all of the paint or degreaser, I'd say I'm right at $250.

I did something similar with my Mossberg 500. I started with a gray auto primer, then tan. I used some broom bristles from a corn straw broom with OD green and dark brown to make the camo patterns, then finished with hand-painting marsh reeds (It's my duck gun).

Both of the guns look good. I have used krylon but switched over to Brownells alumahyde II. Holds up good to solvents and general use. It does cost $13 a can though.
