I moved my guns I inherited to my home. I'm a college student, and live at my moms. Her and my step father are very worried about gangs coming to steal my guns. We live in a suburban neighborhood. What is the likelihood of gun theft in Santa Clara county? All guns are in safes.

Its not impossible.
Were I in your shoes, i'd do the following.
Field strip any weapon stored in the safe with the serial numbered frames/recievers stored somewhere else. Keep your home defense firearm on your person or at minimum within immediate reach-not to be paranoid, but if you're upstairs on the computer and a crook busts in downstairs he's not going to give you time to run to the safe or a drawer in an adjacent room to tool up.
While the odds of a gang targeting your house is unlikely , friends with shady associates are another matter.Between 3 people, doubtlessly someone in your group knows a person of ill repute. Don't take this as an accusation-criminals rarely tell pals their night job is home burglary. Most bad guys are sociable people just like you and me, so the image of criminals being unlikeable cretins certainly isn't universal.
By field stripping your stored arms, if the bad guys do successfully break into the safe or outright steal it by wheeling it right back out ( its bolted down right?) their reward will be a bunch of useless parts. An AR15 upper reciver makes a cute club, but that's all its good for without a lower receiver.Ditto a pistol slide.The more prohibitions you have, the less virtuous people will be.

What sort of gangs? Crips, Bloods, Warriors? Just don't let anyone else know what you've got, minimizing potential damage. If I can arm chair quarter back for a second I would've tried to make the move without telling anyone what was in the safe, or maybe lied and said that the safe contents held limited edition Evlis Presley collector plates, or something...
