    Firearms Trainer Recommendations

Ones you've trained with and rec, ones you'd advise avoiding

Good reps and bad, whether you've trained with them or not, anything you've heard

A supporting blurb would be appreciated.

Pistol, shotgun, rifle, medical, tactics, non-firearms weapons, unarmed...

Primarily for serious social situations iso competition or sport.

If you are in SoCal you could check out ITTS. Scott Reitz is a good trainer, although I only took Handgun I from him. You don't mention your experience so I don't know if you are looking for basics or advanced. If you have a CCW then Masaad Ayoob's MAG40 is perfect, and he travels a lot so you may not have to go all the way to FL. Those are the only ones I have taken, although I have heard great things about: Firearms Academy of Seattle, Rangemaster (TN), and of course there is Gunsite and Front Site. Also look up Tiger McKee at Shootrite. There are so many others, I am sure people who have taken more training will chime in soon.

I would stay away from Front Sight, personally.

ITTS gets good reviews, and the guy I teach with said they had a good class.

Of course you could always take a class from me.

I've taken a couple classes from ITTS and I really enjoyed them, learned a ton and felt really safe the whole time.
