Adding Target Sights to Sig p226
I am considering sending my p226 to Sig's Shop and have them put on target sights. This means they machine the aft end of the slide and drop in the sights used on the p226 X-5 target pistol.
Why do I not get the X-5 you ask? Well, I wanted something a little lighter and a little smaller. Weights are with loaded mag:
p226 34.0 oz with loaded mag; overall length 7.7"
p226 X-5 target pistol weighs 46.7 oz and overall length is 8.8"
I thought it would be nice to have regular p226, but with target sights since I enjoy target practice and it would be nice to be able to adjust for a given distance, bullet, etc., but at the same time not have a Clint Eastwood sized pistol. :-)
Has anyone ever done this? If so, did you like it? Did you hate it? Opinions/comments please.
