Nope, I wait for the Costa Mesa one, cuz' that's only 15 minutes away from me. And it's about twice as big.

I went once, but was put off by the $9 just to park.

The Costa Mesa show is much bigger and free parking.

I was gonna go, because I'd only been to the Costa Mesa show, but now I don't know. Sounds like it might be lame... 1/2 the size? $9 to park? I guess I'll just wait till the CM show in March.

            Thx

First off, I'm not looking for a gun and secondly, I have an off site parking spot. Some of the vendors do grumble about the SD show though.

the powder ppl get miffed about the SD powder ordinance too.

It has sucked the last twice I was there.
I'll wait for CM at the end of the month.

10 or 15 years ago the Del Mar Gun Show was a serious place to get stuff you couldn't locally (e.g. got a 12" Dan Wesson barrel and shroud there for $50) but in recent years I've gone about once in four shows. For a change I went to the last two. It's all ammo cans, t-shirts, bumper stickers and buffalo jerky now, just c**p! In 90% of the cases, I can get what I want from the Internet faster and in a lot of cases, less expensive. Seriously, cleaning supplies and ammo I get from local stores but gun parts, gun mags, handgun grips, etc. I get online. Even gunsmithing. A couple of years ago I had a Winchester '97 made in 1913 that developed a cycling problem that required a new extractor. Took it to a local long-time gun shop that has several gunsmiths on site. It took five months and no action finally I asked for the gun back and magically it was next in line and done that week. I sent a gun to BarSto for barrel/trigger work after I contacted them on the Internet/phone and got it back in 8 days! Sent a CZ 75 to the factory for a LPA adjustable sight and steel trigger after I made arrangement with them through the Internet/phone. Two weeks! The local shops are killing themselves. I'm not even getting into a local Turners. The gun clerks are so gun ignorant I have to hold my tongue.

Oh, and Del Mar regs don't allow ANYBODY to carry concealed on their fair grounds. Not even off duty cops!
