    Gun case + Foam

Hey guys, well Im looking to get my first ar and I want a pelican case for it. I want a pelican 1700 or something that would fit well with the stock collapsed. Also I want custom foam for it, anyone have any leads in the LA area? I tried Pelican Armory and Paul is a good guy but couldn't finish my last project regretfully... So here I am, looking for new leads, someone has to have some ideas...

I would go with Case Club in Anaheim. Good guys to work with.

Heres a thread on how to do it yourself.

Maybe PM a member who has build one and see if they will let you use theirs and help you for a case of beer?

You could always do it yourself for free. Just take a sharp knife and make an initial cut along the gun, then remove gun and finish cutting. May not be the cleanest job but works good.

I really have to get my CNC machine up and running. Custom foam inserts will be one of the things it will do very nicely!

It is intended to be a plasma cutter, but by changing the head, it can run a router or a hot wire or a laser ...

Industrial Plasma CNC Cutting at an affordable price. 5x10 CNC table for plasma cutting.

I have a Pelican 1700, and you can fit a TON of ordnance in there. One rifle, several pistols, magazines, optics, or two rifles, and a few pistols, etc. Fits perfectly in my trunk whereas the 1750 did not.

It's easy to cut your own. Simply use an electric knife like used for carving turkey. All foam shops, upholsterers etc. use them, not hot wire, to cut their foam.

I use them to install sound proof foam for ballistic labs, interrogation rooms, medical rooms, sound studios, etc. I just get the cheap Sunbeam brand and toss when worn out. About 15.00.
