At least two people have been shot and several injured at Northern Illinois University outside Chicago
Ambulances line up at Northern Illinois University after a shooting.
The gunman who opened fire in a lecture hall is dead, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting.
The lecture hall is Cole Hall, reports say. The shooting occured shortly after 3 p.m. ET.
The University has ordered its student body to seek shelter and canceled classes Thursday.
"Its has been confirmed that there has been a shooting on campus and several people have been taken away by ambulance," the school said in a posting on its DeKalb campus Web site. "All classes are canceled on the DeKalb campus. People are urged not to come to campus."

Not to mention everytime I look at an online auction or website I see "no sales" or "won't ship to" ; San Francisco, NYC, Chicago, D.C., Maryland, etc.

Northern Illinois University Campus Alert
DEKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois University says there has been a shooting on campus and several people have been taken away by ambulance. CNN is reporting that at least two people have been killed, as well as the gunman.
University officials warned students on the school Web site to get to a safe area and "take precautions until given the all clear."
The messages says everyone should avoid the King Commons and all buildings in that area. Messages were left for university police and police in DeKalb, located about 65 miles west of Chicago.

Most of this stuff has 2 instigators.
One is the inability of people to protect themselves from harm done by others. People are being harassed every day by morons yet are prevented by law from responding in any way. We have to literally sit there and take it while the BG does whatever he wants. And if we don't just sit there and take it somehow WE become the BG. We need "camel & straw" legislation to immunize people who have to deal with proven repetitive bullying.
The second reason is because there is a general lack of opportunity. No jobs, the economy in the tank, and yet the screws just keep getting turned tighter and tighter. Some people just snap under the pressure. We need new policies and opportunities.Comment
