Quite a few, but you have to be willing to drive and to spend money. Takes money to shoot cheap ammo in Socal ;-)

Bit of a drive from Torrance but P2K in San Diego. "No .50 BMG, no armor piercing!" Anything else is GTG.

Burro canyon allows bi metal during the wet months. Ironically this month has been rather dry. I usually call ahead when I use bi metal and ask if it's cool or not.

Unless a member of the BRRC can correct me, their range rules state no steel jacketed ammo.

Drive about 3 hrs. to SLOSA. On the Central Coast.
                No Bimetal ammo issues here.
Shoot here and you'll be forever spoiled for a great shooting range.
Lots of steel 120-400 yrds. 700 yrds coming soon.

Nice. A friends son is going to Cal Poly San Luis, we have been trying to put together a group camping trip that includes a full day of shooting at that range. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

                            Why the 2 round restriction?

I spoke with a member and asked him when I was considering joining. I asked him if I could shoot HXP, 7.62x54R Milsurp, etc. and he told me, "sure, no problem, we do it all of the time."

I wonder if this is a case where maybe they only let you shoot it on a certain range? When I look at pictures of their range, it looks to be located in a high fire risk zone and their looks to be lots of weeds in the area.

Are their any BRRC Calgunners here who can verify it one way or the other?
