    Gun blogs content

I tried a search and found nothing, but I may be incompetent and repeating something, so my apologies if I am.
What kind of content do you guys want to see on gun blogs? Specific things, like reviews of sub-compact pistols in obscure calibers, or perhaps highbrow and thoroughly researched articles about firearms and their influence. What are the things you look for in a gun blog?
Not only that, but what do you guys thing separates a good gun blog from a place like TTAG, besides not stealing images and articles?

I was going to get started on that gun blog I had been planning, but I didn't want to make a useless place I post to that nobody reads, so I wanted to know what people looked for. Would be a nice change from a media critique blog.
Thanks in advance for the help.

I, for one, would prefer the truth over hype when discussing gun laws.

As far as guns themselves are concerned, I would prefer to see reliable facts over glass tinkling wanna be stuff.

I'd like to see a blog with a women's section that focuses on the smaller sized weapons, long and short, and on things that are of concern only to women, such as carrying on the hip, handling recoil with small wrists and hands, and so on.

Finally, I'd like to see a kid's section or link so kids could find out what they could do until they could have their own .22 rifle or whatever, things they could do to make themselves better gun owners when they grew up. These would be stories of gun use, of history, collecting stories, very difficult and documented shots, stories of competition like the from the Olympics and other famous competitions.

I'd read a blog like that.

      1. Must have posts everyday. May be hard to find new content all the time, but people like lots of new stuff to read.

      2. Research a little before posting, nothing is more of a turnoff than inaccurate information (except maybe point #3). I stopped reading one blog after he posted: "what if the M14 had been full auto, would it have replaced the new M16?, see this girl from G4 tv fire a full auto civilian model of the M14"

Anyone with an interest in military arms would know the M14 was a select fire rifle from the beginning.

      3. Dont ever post stuff that will make u sound like an Anti/Brady... Achem* Jerry Tsai.

Also, I love it when Antis step in it and say retarded things about guns. I dont know anyone that doesnt love hearing about a politician talking about the "shoulder thing that goes up."

I'd like to see one with competition news, product reviews based on actual scientific style testing, and lots of high resolution pictures of the reviewed items from several angles. The women's section or category would be good to expand your audience also, especially if you could get an attractive woman to do product testing also. This would help male readers reach out to their spouses, and intrigue females interested in shooting. The kids section the guy above mentioned seems like a good idea too, but I'm not quite sure how to do something like that.

Okay, thanks. Some good ideas with where to start and what to do. Looks like I'll have to plan this out a bit more to make it actually worthwhile.
Thanks for the tips and advice.
