    Look into the .260 Remington

Short action, accurate, mild recoil and those 140 grain bullets are excellent on hogs and deer.

I suggest a 7mm-08 or 260Rem or 308win. My daughter has been shooting a 257Roberts since she was 8 years old. Wore out the barrel so I had it rebarreled for her to take to Africa. She also has tried to claim ownership of my Tikka's in 7mm-08 and 6.5X55. She has shot a 375H&H but that is more than she needs here. Any one of the above with good bullets will do just fine for deer/pronghorns/pigs and even elk if needed. The 6.5X55 with handloads is about equal to the 260Rem and is a great cartridge.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.
