newb ppt question

Apologies for the newb question. I hope this is in the right section.

I'm considering a handgun for trade for an item I have on Craigslist. The handgun is an unregistered S&W model 39-2 (SN#A53XXXX).

1. Will there be any problem PPT this handgun?
2. Where can I PPT on a Friday night in the Roseville/Sacramento area?

Thanks for your help and patience for my questions. This offer popped up unexpectedly and I'm trying to make sure I have all my ducks in a row before I agree to a trade. This is my first PPT, so I'm a bit nervous.

I found this wiki and answered question 1. Only thing I don't have is the HSC. I can take that at the FFL, right?

The buyer must have the Handgun Safety Certificate (Penal Code 12071(a)(8)(B))and perform the safe handling demonstration required by Penal Code 12071(a)(8)(D)

Called Sportsman's Warehouse in Rocklin and will go there. They are open til 8pm and should be able to take care of me.
