I registered in Gunbroker.com, set-up an add for a Browning A5 I was interested in selling. I put a reserve and buy now price etc.
Two days into the sale I had not 1 bid but a guy bought it at the buy now full price rate.
There is a section to contact the buyer and the phone number is no longer in service. Hmmmm, I e-mail him and he asks for the final price and the address to send the cashier's check when he calls my cell.
I am already a little edgy because of the phone number then he sends me an e-mail the next day. Get this:
"My Name, I don't know which gun you were selling but I most likely wanted to purchase it. My cell number is xxx-xxx."
I don't think this guys elevator goes to the top floor.
I ended up selling it today to a guy I was telling the story to. Things worked out but I get the feeling gunbroker and craigslist are full of scamers and goof balls.
