Have you tried the EVA-DRY De-humidifiers?

I just ordered this to help keep my stored stuff humidity-free. Has anybody used this and care to share their experience?

I've got this one, and a bigger one

    They seem to work fine

I'm planning on placing it inside of a pelican case. Are you using it in an open area, case, or safe?

I've got two safes I use them in.

I would think it would work fine in your pelican case.

The smaller the area, the longer it will last before recharging

I have the larger one with the rounded corners in my safe. It goes pink about once a month, takes a few hours plugged in to recharge.

I think you can find smaller silica holders for a pelican case, though. Might not be plug in but you can recharge any silica by baking at a low temperature, even the little packets.

Maybe something like this for a case (I'm assuming it's not a huge storage case)?

I use them in the safe. Good stuff as long as you remember to check the color every few weeks.

I use two of those also. I also use a cheap hygro from a pharmacy to watch the levels.

I'll look into this if I have to recharge the other one too often. Once a month sounds more reasonable than every 2 weeks. Do you keep ammo in the same safe?

Mine must not be working. I have not had to recharge mine in over a year. I have a gauge in there and humidity is below 30%.

Because there isn't much for it to absorb. You don't want your humidity too low or you end up risking drying out and screwing up any wood. The higher the humidity, the more often you need to recharge them, simple as that.

Many of these types of dehumidifiers use a silica gel based desiccant. You can save your self a few bucks by stopping at your local craft store and buying a bulk pack.

Usually a 1 1/2 pound bag or bottle will cost around 6 bucks and a 5 pounder costs about 12 bucks. Mail order will work if your town doesn't have a store like Hobby Lobby or Joanne's.

Here are a couple of links.

                            1 1/2 Pound.

                            5 Pound.

                            Regards,

I saw that- it looks like either an exact copy of the Stack-On dehumidifier, or maybe even made by the same factory.

                              The stack-ons work great.
