$600...Remington 870P or AK47?

After some hard work I will have about $600 extra in the budget, and I expertly negotiated with myself that I would like to put it towards a new long gun. Should I go with the 870P to improve home defense, or the AK for fun (And who knows how long we will be able to get them for.) Opinions please! Both will be fairly heavily modified to my needs/preferences

AK47 will be usable as HD as well.

Currently my AR is the only real rifle I would use in HD, other than that .22's, scoped .308's, mosins, hunting shotguns, and such.

AK for fun... Fun comes along all the time.. HD will probably never come.. But if it does the AK does enough damage to handle it self in HD..

And I know a lot of guys get a hard on for racking a pump.. And say it will scare away a bad guy (which I don't believe or support)

But trust me you havnt felt bad a** until you rack an AK..

I can't stock racking my AK in the house with no ammo the sound is like a 12 pump on roids.. To me its house of added fun lol

Load it with Federal LE 132 OO Buck!

Nine 32 caliber projectiles at 1145 FPS with one pull of the trigger is kinda hard to beat / survive.

No place on the property you can't own with a little bit of practice with the 870.

For HD definitely a pump shotgun. If you miss with an AK, an AK round will most likely travel out of your home and remember you are 100% responsible for every round that leaves your weapon.

For fun, definitely the AK. Pump shotguns are awesome but they are nowhere near as fun as an AK. I'd say get a cheap Mossberg 88 shotgun (these are extremely reliable and cheap) for about 200, save the extra 400 and save up for an AK.
