    Anyone rip and save?

I love to buy new stuff. I would love to save the original box my rifles and shotguns come in but thats not happening. But I enjoy keeping the ends that have the UPC and Serial Numbers. Anyone else do this or actually keep the whole box?

I have the original boxes for all 4 of my Ruger pistols.

I keep all of the boxes and paperwork. Even the plastic bags that the guns are sometimes wrapped in.

And your thread title made me imagine farting into a jar.

Hardly! Having the box can increase the value of a gun. So when my Glock 22 becomes a rare collectible. I'll be rich.

Just saying most come in a ...well, card board box. Once form, function and quality are confirmed I'll keep the end side with all the info and chuck ( recycle ) the rest. I'm talking long arms. Yeah I'd probably keep a pistol box, but all my pistols have come in a handsome plastic case; of course I'm keeping that.

I keep my boxes and anything I can from the factory (locks, plastic tubs, manuals, test casing). I do it for most of my big item purchases (i.e. tvs, gaming systems, computers). I think it helps with re-sale value, if it comes to trying to sell. I like to buy things that have everything it came with. Makes it seem like people take good care of their stuff enough to keep the packaging it came in.

By the time I'm done opening up any card board box, it's already trashed. Yup even the simple flip to open ones.

                              Fixed it.

I have all the boxes for all the guns I bought new. VERY unlikely my 10/22 is ever going to be a rare collectable though.
