I have used the large Midway bag and it started looking pretty used after 6 months. It has been replaced by the Shooter's Connection bag. Been using it for 3 or 4 years and it still looks like new. I have the smaller Midway bag and when it comes time to replace it, I will get the smaller Shooter's Connection bag. There is a huge difference in quality. BTW, when I got it, I think they were $129...it was still worth it

Midway's range bag is great - especially when it's on sale for around $50.

I have a 5.11 patrol bag I'm very happy with and it's similar to the midway bag. I'd buy it again if I had a time machine.

      WTB used AK MFER.

Really just about any bag will work perfectly fine as a range bag as long as it has some compartments to help organize things a bit. Plenty of bags from sporting goods and hardware stores will fit the bill.

Just remember that no matter what bag you end up with, if you fill it, you're still going to have to lug it around. I have the large midway bag and a smaller one from some other brand. I only use the large one when taking a bunch of guns to an outdoor range, for an indoor range with a couple of guns I use the smaller one.

Personally, I dont care for what they market as a range bag. I have multiple, inexpensive nylon bags of various sizes. One carries mags for center fire rifles. Another for center fire pistols. A small third one is for rimfire (both rifle and pistol).

When I go shooting, I only grab the bag(s) I need that day.

Ammo is always in ammo cans as I buy in bulk that way.

A tackle box works great for the various small doo-dads, staple gun, tape for targets, solvent, etc.

For the price, especially when they are on sale (like now) - Midway bags hands down. I have two of the big bags and one of the small bags. I've used the bag for 4 years now, and it's still in great shape. The zippers on the pistol bags failed, but I rarely use them. My wife uses the small bag for gun stuff, and the other big bag as a travel carry-on bag.

We tried all kinds of things: Suitcases, bags of all shapes and sizes, backpacks, toolcases, laptop cases... finally we arrived at two of these MTM casegard boxes:

Wife and I have been using these for the longest so I think we're happy with them

                Large version of this.

Don't pay the online price. I got mine at the OC Crossroads gun show for $90. I can fit 4 full size pistols (in separate soft cases), 32 mags, 1000 rds of 45ACP, eyes/ears, small cleaning kit for the range and still have room in the outer pockets for misc. stuff.

My wife thought I was crazy for getting one that seemed so big. When we went to the range with it for the first time and she saw everything in 1 bag instead of multiple ones, she realized the method to my madness.

Your telling me, I've tried a couple different things, but the latest range bag has been one of my sons diaper bags that has a gazillion pockets/pouches.

It's just awkward to carry since it wasn't made to carry so much weight from all the ammo. The main reason I've used it the latest couple range trips was because the palm size gerber baby image on the side of it that gets a conversation going every time I'm out

Midway. Bought one earlier this year and would highly recommend it.

The OP does not state what he wants to carry, but that bag carries an amazing amount of stuff for its size due to how well it let's you organize it...

I use the Midway large bag and am very happy with it. Only problem is so much stuff is in it, thing gets pretty heavy.
For competitions, probably going to get a Maxepedition gunslinger bag. Lot of room and the backpack allows easy mobility. Going to leave the midway bag in the car, with tools, extra ammo, and extra fluids.

Bought this and am pretty pleased with it:

Safariland Model 4555 Shooter's Range Bag

Has an inner removable compartment, almost like a separate bag (zippers on it are lockable) for up to 4 handguns. Adjustable loops for magazines. Heavy-duty.

                              $30

Actually, when those larger range bags are on sale, they're $29 so I'd wait until that happens (will happen for sure during Black Friday time).

Extremely nice, but also extremely big. I kind of want to get rid of mine since all it does is now take up space in my bedroom closet.
