Try your local gun store, some do. Just ask. Usually it's 90 days.

many only do 45 day...some do 90 day... some mom & pop stores may allow you to make a Christmas fund. Meaning you deposit X every week and when you have enough saved with them, you apply it to a firearm or gear. Its not common and normally only done for friends. The normal policy is the money has a 25% non-refundable holding fee...so if after 2 months its $400, and you want to take it all out and spend it somewhere else...you lose $100.

For layaway? I forgot how long their's is. Probably 90 days? I used it when I bought my pistol from them. Transaction went smoothly. Annie's Get Your Gun in Corona gave me 30 days which is, I think, the last day for the DROS to still be valid.

Turners does layaway and will start dros at the time of deposit. This is why I've been living paycheck to paycheck for the past year. lol
