Advise on shipping a Pistol.

Hello, I would like to hear from those that have shipped pistols ( within CA ), how you went about the process. I hear conflicting advise from different vendors.

I am in Southern Ca, I can use Oak tree gun club, Angeles Range, or aegis guns (in burbank), maybe MBR in culver city.

So how did you actually go about shipping the pistol.

Also I heard that in CA you cannot ship a H&K P7M8 due to what's called a drop test?

I would like to know if this is correct..

It matters to where and to whom you plan to ship the handgun.

(The HK question is answered with "that makes no sense at all - that's a thing a handgun must pass to get on the Roster, and has nothing at all to do with shipping".)

You can't ship a handgun to any destination but an FFL, unless you are shipping to yourself, and only you will open the package. (Except intrafamilial - no need for FFL in that transfer.)

Only an FFL may use the US Mail (USPS) to ship a handgun.
