Dvor.com: bad experience

Stay away from dvor.com

Placed an order. They said it would ship in 1 to 2 weeks.

It has been close to 3 weeks. Still says "On hold." Customer service won't give me a straight answer. They told me it will take 1 to 2 weeks to fulfill. I asked them if they can do math, since 3 is greater than 1 or 2.

Questionable business practices.

Keep spamming my inbox with promos and the prices are not deals at all.

Overall left a bad taste in my mouth.

Have no issues ordering from Opticsplanet, their sister site. Dvor seems like a scam.

I have never order from Dvor and they occasionally will have some good deals. Being I have always received good service from optics planet I wont hestitate to buy something from any of their companies. Hope you get your stuff soon and sometimes unexpected problems occur that they have no control over or someone screwed up. Cancel your order or be patient.

Contrary experience; I've ordered several hundred dollars of product from Dvor and have never had a problem; not saying you're not having a problem, just saying that anecdotal experience is just that. And the member thing, really just puts you on their mailing list so you get notified a couple times a week of their sales.

I've had both good and bad from DVOR. Ordered maybe 8 times, had 2 that were either wrong size (other than what I ordered) or didn't match description; had easy customer service experience BUT had to argue with them to pay shipping on the 2 returns that were due to their screwups. They don't pay shipping and I spoke to supervisors that handled it.

Actually, just got a Blackhawk Training Jacket for only $50 and some other things plus the flat $10 shipping. Still cheaper than LAPG and they were backordered '2 weeks'. Some items are good deals, others not so much; you just have to do your due diligence and make sure youre getting a good deal and are ok with their fulfillment times.

OP: Sorry you had a bad experience, but this seems like a knee-jerk reaction.

Most likely we expected it in 2 weeks and it didn't show up and the vendor isn't being forthcoming with why it hasn't shown up yet.

"I don't know" or "it's going to be a few more weeks" is probably technically the right answer, but not necessarily a good answer. It may be true, but I want to check and see if I can get better information.

see how that works... no one called the police...no one called BBB...no one called DoJ.. you just get the shop to come here and they find out what the problem is and resolve the situation.

Now compare this against the other threads calling for DoJ intervention and ATF to go kick in some FFLs door.

after the 4th month without releasing a firearm back to the original owner...I say call LEO...but that was another thread...

I recently ordered from DVOR and had no issues. I got a tracking number and the package arrived quickly.

I had the same issue as the OP, took 3-4 months before i saw my light. They order through other companies which may or may not have the item in stock.

Appreciate the fast response. I went ahead and canceled my order placed with Dvor and ordered a scope from Opticsplanet instead.

As I said, I order from Opticsplanet frequently and have always been satisfied.

I'm a little confused about how Dvor works and why it takes so long to fulfill orders.

A bit of feedback for you would be to make it more explicit to customers what stage an order is in. Having it show up as "On Hold" for weeks is very confusing.

DVOR is OP's deal-a-day site. Different sales everyday on different items. On the item description, there should be a a section that says "Expected to ship in..." and an ETA. I got my jacket in 3 days from ordering (Fastest ever from Dvor and my location has remained the same ) but the DVDs I ordered should ship in another 2 or 3 weeks (Think they were a pre-order).

My only suggestion is to read the shipping ETA (although that goes out the window if they dont have the item or it's delayed in getting to them, though I'm not sure if they ship from their own stock or not, Im leaning towards yes) and if anything give them a call.

So Dvor is our deal site, as a few people pointed out. The business model is a little different from OpticsPlanet.

Every product page has an ETA on Dvor (you don't have to click) that is manually created before an item goes live. We also set quantity limits so we don't oversell, because that availability doesn't change dynamically like on OpticsPlanet.

Some of the stuff we sell is in the warehouse. Those items typically ship in 1-2 days. We label them as shipping in 1-2 days.

Then we have the stuff that isn't in the warehouse. Some of it is is on the way from the supplier already - we're trying to sell it ahead of time. Less time sitting in our warehouse means we can offer a better price.

Other things we are committing to a special buy with the supplier. Suppliers are willing to give us price breaks based on committing to purchasing a certain amount. These are the longer ETAs (ships in 4+ weeks) where the product may still be in the manufacturing process, but we can get you a great price by placing a bulk order before it's even off the production line.

We do our very best to hit every ETA. We're getting better and better at it, but we won't be satisfied until we hit them all.

As far as it just saying "On hold" in order tracking forever, yeah, that's not good enough. I'll see if we can make that better and give you a little more information. In the mean time, we're here to help as much as we can. Just PM us and we can see what we can find out.

I guarantee your jacket was in the warehouse before you bought it, and the DVDs were on the way to us when you bought them (we had confirmation from the supplier they were being shipped.)
