Flitz gun care

I'm looking for something to condition my guns with couple of times a year to keep the finish of the gun looking new. I came across Flitz polish gun care product and wanted to know if anyone has used this product? or what else do you guys use that works great. I'm not looking for something to bring the finish back to life from heavy rust, just looking for something to prevent it. A product that works for all types of finishes would be ideal.

I have had it recommended to me for polishing the feed ramp, have yet to try it out though. Been meaning to, but I need to get my dremmel back from my neighbor.

It all depends on the finish itself. The thickness, the type, the additives... Are we talking Blueing, Chrome, Anodizing, Tennifer...?? And by who since some manufactures alter the finish for custom looks.

I have all the finishes you listed. I'm looking for something that works on all finish.

Its a personal choice I like CLP...but there is a whole list of reasons I shouldn't...

Flitz is a polish for stainless and raw steel, I would NOT use it on blued or it could remove the bluing.

It is excellent for the materials noted above, though.

Dan is exactly correct.

If you want to have your guns looking like new AFTER you clean them.
Get a spray can of "EEZOX".
Spray the weapon down. Put it away.

Tis that simple. You will not find anything better to make a weapon look new as well as a bit lubrication propety's and best of all. Rust protection.

Get some. Read the directions on the can. Use it.

If you don't like it. Grab a can of carb cleaner and spray it off.

In around 50 years of shooting. EEZOX is the closest thing to Armour All and CLP in one can that you can buy specifically for weapons and associated systems.

I purchased the Flitz gun care kit a while back - it does state it is safe for factory hot blue but so far I've only used it on a stainless Ruger SP-101.

I think I would only use the cleaner and wax on blueing though, I have a tendancy to overdue it with abrasives.

I only bought the kit for my revolvers - I wouldn't want wax on the slide of a semi auto.
I was happy with the way the SP-101 came out, those stubborn spots in the cylinder flutes polished right out with very little effort.
I liked the slight sheen from the wax and it seems more resistant to finger prints now.

I've always used the silicon cloths to ocassionally wipe down my rifles in storage to get rid of the fondling marks.

I've just recently started buying pistols with the more modern finishes and I'm not sure what to use on them myself.

Flitz wax on Blue guns, don't risk the polish on your blue gun.

Thanks guys, I just wanted to make sure before I make an expensive mistake. I have couple of guns that only see very little range time (maybe once a year if that) I try to take them out every few months and give it a wipe down and put it back away. I was only looking for something extra.
