I used to plan on grabbing my 12 gauge but the more I thought about it I realized how much of a mess I would be stuck with cleaning up. I now have my .45 closer at hand.... I would rather have to clean up a pool of blood than brain and skull matter...

I will use my cell phone if I hear glass breaking or wood splintering. But, in my locked "safe room", my wife and I will have our firearms ready for a last stand if needed. Caliber will be .22LR or .38 special and 9mm.

I have various home security/protection layers in effect. My dog is an integral part of the system. He has multiple jobs and excells at all of them! The most important is early detection & warning. Then it's Daddy, get your gun, cause it's awn!

1. It depends on the threat.

2. I use ONLY the force needed to subde the threat.

3. If it came to using a firearm it would probably be the one closest at hand and that would depend on several variables.

4. I would always use a bible along with any option listed
