I was browsing Gunbroker, just wasting time, and I came across a particular item and it got me thinking. The more I thought about it, the more I wanted it, and the more I wanted it, the more I knew I had to be fooling myself.

Anyone else notice that Knights Armament doesn't put model names/numbers on their lowers so there is no way to determine if the lower is a SR-15, AR-15, POS Lower, No-name, etc. model? I don't see a "_____" under Knight Armament in the AR/AK series list, so I take it that ALL Knights Armaments are good to go? Sure they mark the upper, but we're not drosing the upper now are we...

That is an interesting point. I was just thinking the same thing with the sig 550, which is banned by name. But you can buy a 550 lower, handguards, and a 556 upper (which is serialized and goes to your FFL) and assemble a 550 rifle. The only thing is in my case you are retaining 556 model number on the serialized part.

I got to thinking about it when the particular item was a SR-15 Match, yet the lower was not marked any other way (outside the late production logos with the KAC initials and caliber markings). The upper was marked SR-15 Match, but there was no way to differentiate the lower from a normal SR-15. The lower only has the KAC logo, KAC initials, caliber, and serial number. No model.

I think my brain is working too much to make this happen, but I don't see why it CAN'T happen either.
