First of all you are missing the point of what I am saying...secondly you are wrong about firearm laws..they do tell you what is legal IN THE EXCEPTIONS PORTIONS...WHICH IS WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT.
The law says the speed limit is 65...There is an EXCEPTION in that law saying if you can prove your cars speedometer was defective and displayed the wrong speed, you can get out of paying the fines as long as you fix the defect... SO YOU NOW THINK ITS LEGAL TO ALTER YOUR SPEEDOMETER TO DISPLAY A LOWER SPEED AND YOU THINK THAT ALLOWS YOU TO LEGALLY DRIVE OVER 65...
Nothing in the SSE says you can get around the safe handgun testing By temporarily configuring a semiautomatic into a single shot, then back to semiauto. People do that because they think its a work around in the law. Unlike magazine law. There is a way for any person to get large capacity magazines in CA...100% LEGAL, all due to a work around built into the law which allows this.
The SSE is an exemption to the safe handgun laws...(b) The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to a single-shot pistol with a barrel length of not less than six inches and that has an overall length of at least 10 1/2 inches
when the handle, frame or receiver, and barrel are assembled.
There is also no law against converting a single action to semiauto...so now you have a way to get a normally semiauto firearm without having it listed or tested. So by default you can use the SSE to get a semiauto handgun... IT IS NOT A LEGAL WAY TO BYPASS THE SAFE HANDGUN TESTING LAWS... Its a work around. Its a failure in the law to to address all of the laws. Its a win for us.
I think the use of the SSE is a 100% valid way to work around the law... but don't tell me that is what its there for...ITS NOT.
Once again.. I have no issue with a shop doing SSE, selling magazines or BBs or whatever. I think all gun laws are crap...
What I can't stand is a shop crying foul because another shop is getting all the business. This shop cried when the BBs craze hit and now they are not only crying, they are attempting to close another shop down.
This is like a gun shop supporting banning the magazine lock...
IslandView needs to produce the evidence supporting what they are saying so we can take community action (boycott) that other gun store.
