    Tacstar side saddles

So I have a 6 shot tacstar side saddle on my Mossberg 590a1, after maybe 30 slugs or so threw it I noticed it lost 4 of the screws that hold the shell holder to the reciever mounting plate. My question is, has somthing similar happened to any of you guys? Or was mine just a lemon? I was sure the screws were tight to begin with but who knows. So I'm curious if tacstar is know for this, if so should I just upgrade to a mesa tactical? Thanks guys

Did you use some blue threadlocker on the screws when you installed it? I got a mesa tactical one and still tight after about 60 rounds of birdshot and buckshots and slugs mixed.

Same thing happened to me, except I only lost one screw. The rest were still in that plastic part. Bought some locktite thread lock and its been perfect since. Still doesn't look complete with that missing screw though lol

Did you only put locktite on the 6 screws that mount the actual shell holder to the plate mounted to the reciever? Or did you jus do it all? Lol

Locktite Blue is removable. Put a small dab on each screw.

It isn't a lemon, it was just improperly installed...you really can't blame the tool, when it is the operator...remember that it is attached to the receiver, has it's own inertial and takes both rearward and forward shock of operation

You know, I did it so long ago now I forget. I definitely put it on the 6 little screws (actually the 5 i have left) and idk if I put any on the 2 bigger ones that go through the receiver. I didn't have any issues with the 2 bigger ones coming loose, but once that little bottle of loctite is opened its kinda hard to stop haha.
I ended up getting the blue version btw, just in case i ever want to take it off.

I just bought the green, I'm not to worried about the color since it will only be used on the threads in the reciever plate. They shouldn't be visable unless your really looking for it haha

use blue loctite on anything that screws, if you decide you want to keep it in that configuration, it's already done

if not, it is not permanent and comes out with a bit more force

Well the loctite I got was green, but specifically for metal to metal parts. I was told is was no permanent, but not easily removed either lol.
