Security camera system recommendations for home

I'd like to install some cameras. I'd like to put one on my safe, front yard, back yard, and maybe a couple of other places. I'd like to have it recorded and maybe loop the recording so something like the last 10 hours or so is always on disk. Viewing it from my Samsung Galaxy would be a plus but not sure if you have to pay a subscription with someone to get that. Maybe my alarm company has this but it might be cheaper to get a separate system. I'm assuming this system would be wireless. I guess I could pay up to about $500. But would prefer if it wasn't that much. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Wired for me...

Please check out http://www.supercircuits.com/. They have a great selection of quality gear and good prices.

I purchased a system years ago (VHS-based) and it still works fine.

I guess if I install the system, I should install a power supply also just in case they cut power.

I have a camera at the outside disconnect for phone and power and the camera and VCR has a UPS good for a while.

          Lorex

I got a LOREX at Costco, for about $300.00 awhile back, is wireless, has sensors and goes to sd card. I don't know if they have them anymore but a saw a simular system at Sams.

I don't have much experience with traditional wired or CCTV systems, but IP cameras have worked really well for me over the years. If you already have a good computer (decent router with SPI firewall), internet, and your samsung phone; those should get you a head start on your project. I see a good number of people happy with d-link products (I have no experience with them, but they would fit your budget and do the job). If you want the BEST... get sony cameras (HD infrared outdoor-ready) and slowly flesh out your system as the budget allows. Who knows, you might start using the cameras for other fun projects like time-lapse photography :-)
