    Mailing gun to self

    Hey

I've got a rifle in another state (new york) i inherited. At some point in the near future i'll be over in new york. Since i will be the owner of the rifle, can i just mail it to my home address via UPS or something? I've been doing some research and it seems like the best option, but i'm unsure of it's legality. Haven't read anything concrete saying it's acceptable, (of course i havent read anything saying it's illegal)

Feds say yes, you can mail your own long gun to yourself. See the wiki -- http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/Sh...hin_California. Link to the USPS Domestic Mail Manual there, that explains.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

I have shipped like this several times. I used UPS and I didn't have any problems.

I just mailed a rifle to myself to a Ma. address thru the USPS. You can mail it parcel post, insured, w/ signature confirmation. It cost me $45.66
