    Oak Tree Gun Club

took Friday off from work and drove up to the oak tree rifle range in Newhall.
very nice. you can shoot your steal core cheep ammo no problem. do not bring a lot of stuff though. the parking lot is a good walk from the 100 yard rifle range. i will go back. also you can only use their target frames. no bowling pins etc.

Yep, many of us here enjoy Oak Tree, great club. Did you shoot on the new rifle range? I was there a few months ago and it wasn't open yet.

i let a range master load and shoot my ammo. it was the 100 yard range. this old guy [me]was tuckered out. i opened the place . it was about 107 Deg and i stayed all day for the night shoot. i did not hide that i was using steel core 7.62-54r. nice looking lady range master on the night range. it was just her and me for a while. i let her shoot 5 rounds in my M-44.

The way they explained it to me was that if they sold M855 at the same counter they used for their range, then they would be DBs to not let you use it there.

The guy I was talking to seemed knowledgeable enough, I believed his story.

I think the new rifle range is past the five stand area, up the hill, to the left of right where you drive in.

the new rifle range is small. its also 100 yards max. seems like its the same size as the pistol bay area.

Oak Tree is a pretty nice range.

I go there alot with my friends as since they allow steel case it makes it a lot cheaper to shoot my saiga. Though the rifle range only goes out to around 150 yards it is enough for me as I bring my dads mp-15 22 with my also. The people are very friendly, lol I think I am going there this weekend.
