Cow Palace gun show - just got back

    $12 at the door
    $8 parking

The show was HUGE!!! So many vendors there. Some of the space between tables was bottlenecked.

Ammo Bros were there with lots of guns. Good prices, too. A friend of mine picked up an XD-40 Essential 4" for $369.99.

Peninsula Guns and Tactical (formerly Golden Gate Arms) was there, too, but they were expensive.

Also, because Peninsula was the only Transfer Dealer there (RGuns didn't make it), they jacked up the Handgun transfer fee - $50 transfer fee.

Miwall didn't bring any 5.56 62gr Penetrators, but LAX had them.

    Miwall:
    5.56
    PMC 1000/$340, 500/$180
    AE 500/$190
    Reload 500/$150

    LAX:
    5.56
    PMC X-Tac 1000/$390, 500/$200, bulk/loose 300/$140
    Winchester Q3131 1000/$400, 500/$210
I'm not having a glass of wine, I'm having SIX. It's called a tasting and it's classy.

I try and hit the Cow Palace fall show (when the heat inside is somewhat bearable - it was a bit warm in there today) and see how prices are fluctuating on things.

One vendor was selling powder for $26/lb (including tax) which wasn't bad. Unfortunately, their CCI primers were $40 (also including tax), but OMFG, they were NOT benchrest...and the idea behind shopping at the show for these type of items is to avoid fees (hazmat, shipping, etc.).

Jump over to another vendor and their powders were $19.95 (tax not included) and their CCI primers were $24.95 (tax not included) and these were not benchrest either. So it definitely pays to shop around if you want to get a good deal as there are so few now at the shows.

Prices were a bit mangled. You had to look, take note, wander around, and look at other tables. I didn't see Metal Dog Tactical there today, did I miss Tunis?

Cordelia Gun Exchange was there also, did you ask them how much for transfer? Peninsula Gun's prices were ridiculous.

Only real bargain I found today was that rifle case for $60 (guy said $65 with tax... come on... tax at a gun show??!! should be included with the price). Ammos weren't cheap at all. I could have bought them from local gun shops for cheaper. But I did buy some from Wholesale Ammos because the cashier was cute. Saw many uppers for sale, but wouldn't dare to touch them because they're from no name brand. Oh, great prices on AR stocks from almost all vendors.

I just got back, got some sights, some lights, a $10 Boy Scout Bowie and some ammo (case of 100 30-06 for $59.99). May go back tomorrow with my buddy.

Also finally found a tactical vest that fit me

That isn't new....they were charging $50 at least a year , including for PPTs. Aggravating....

I dont blame them. They're putting in all the work for a gun purchase when they do transfers for non-local businesses. Believe it or not it is in fact the most time consuming tedious part of a firearms transaction.

I went today (sat) as well. Got there at 10. Wanted to go at 9 but buddy wouldn't wake up in time. Should've just left without him.

Got 500rds of .223 reloads from MIWALL for ~$147. They also had Hornady factory new .223 for ~$138 but those were gone within the first hour.

Also got 500rds 9mm reloads and 500rds CCI Minimags from LAX for $85 and $34 respectively.

Finally got some targets and cleaning supplies.. nothing else really impressed me. The crappy chinese gun accessories are cheaper on Amazon and eBay so I didn't even bother. Wasn't really looking at buying guns (since I know they didn't have what I was looking for) so can't comment on that.

Kinda wish I brought more 9mm since I went to Jackson right after and used up half the ammo can already.

I went the last 3 shows @ cow palace. Admission went up to $12 last time and it look like it'll be staying at $12. I park on the streets by Mc DOnalds because I'm a cheap *** and didn't want to pay for parking. I'm also fat so I could use the excercise. Ammo prices seems to be steadily rising by a couple of dollar every time. Probably won't be back next time.

Think my buddy brought that case. Where do you get your ammo locally?

YES!!!!!!! there is tax at the gunshow!!!!!! just to get a table at these shows the promoter requires you to have a tax license and asks for that number for their records.

i however build tax into my price, because the state actually gets less money from you that way, i get to deduct the tax out of the total sales i do, and then only pay tax on the remaining total.

Im from OR, and so sales tax is a very draconian concept to me, along with pumping your own gas and not letting your doctor off you if you are suffering a terminal illness.
