Maybe I'll try to find a different link. Sorry, the vid is really the barrel of a 50 cal flying off.

Not at all. Its a video of a vehicle mounted M2 and they are firing it and the barrel flys off. They are in the desert..Iraq maybe. The only site that links it is a kind of porn site. I don't want to piss of the mods more than I already do. Although the world needs more boobies and less anger. Anyway, I will try to find a more work and family friendly link.Is this the video your trying to post

Ok, WTH was up with that first video? It exploded well after the round went off.sigpicNRA MemberOriginally posted by Deadbolt"We're here to take your land for your safety"

First round didn't seem to fire. Probably had a bullet wedged in the barrel, second round went off, give it enough time and it's essentially a pipe bomb. Round failure, not barrel or rifle failure.
The second video looks like they didn't secure the barrel properly. Not sure if the MB2 has a quick barrel change capability, but that might be the case. Gun fires and the barrel under recoil falls to the floor. Of course I would have imagined the barrel flying a bit more if it wasn't secure, but those .50 barrels may just be that massive.quemadmodum gladius neminem occidit, occidentis telum est. - Lucius Annaeus

I just asked someone who knows, and he tells me that can happen without proper headspace after changing a barrel. He told me that an M2 doesn't have quick-change capability, but they're "easily" changed.sigpicNRA MemberOriginally posted by Deadbolt"We're here to take your land for your safety"

Look at the tyranny of party -- at what is called party allegiance, party loyalty -- a snare invented by designing men for selfish purposes -- and which turns voters into chattles, slaves, rabbits, and all the while their masters, and they themselves are shouting rubbish about liberty, independence, freedom of opinion, freedom of speech, honestly unconscious of the fantastic contradiction... Heard the same thing from a marine buddy of mine. Said that it took a while to change and get right, though.GAP Team Shooter 5Comment

Headspacing an M2 is a piece of cake.
Thread the barrel in against the gauge, back it off a pre-specified number of clicks.
Takes less than a minute.
You do it everytime you install a barrel, which is pretty much anytime you take the gun to the range and set it up.Randall Rausch

Sounds just like the 1919...which makes sense since they are essentially the same design.
