Can I extensively modify my gun???

I own an older Ruger P95DC (discontinued DE-cocker only, no safety). Since it is the "older" P95 model, it has a very "slippery" handle, and lacks the "newer" P95's accessory rail and stippled grip area.
My question......can I purchase a newer P95 with the stippled grip area and accessory rail, and throw all of the de-cocker specific parts on it to get the gun I really want? I would then assemble the old P95 frame with all of the newer P95's slide, etc and sell that gun for a good price. Note the serial number on the P95 is attached to the grip frame.

You can modify your gun in any way you please, provided the mods don't create an illegal configuration.

You should check to see if the new frame will accept the old parts before you throw any money at it.
