    Frankenkimber

I have the gun in mind that I want. But that's the only pace where it exists. So far.

Basically I want a Kimber 1911 with a real short barrel and a full length grip for my large hands. But when they make a 3" barrel they make a short grip too.

So...can I buy a full size 1911 and then buy the upper for the 3" system and swap out the upper receiver and all the parts? It should still work, right?

You might run into dimensional issues putting an officer slide on a government frame.

I just found out that Kimber makes a 3" .45 with full size grip, but it is not on the CA list, wah!

        Look at this thread...

Perhaps Kimber will sell you the slide assembly seperately?
