Motorcycle travel with 442

I'm exhausted for searching for an answer to this. I have an MI carry permit which of course is not honored in CA. Is it ok to just keep my piece locked in the saddlebag? Does it need to be cased? Please don't link me to another thread.

As long as it is in the bag locked and the ammo separated from the weapon you should have no issues.

If it is unloaded, and in a locked container, you are good. Ammo not required to be in a seperate container, just not in the cylinder since we are talking about a revolver.
