Desert hotsprings shooting spot

I will be taking my wife to Desert Hotspring few a few days R&R next week and asked if I would take her shooting in the desert out there, and naturally I said yes.
But here is my dilemma I dont know of a spot out there where we can go with out getting hassled by over zealous LEO's.
Can anyone tell me of a spot and directions to get there.
