hey guys i recently acquired a savage model 11 in .308 w/22" barrel. i am very happy with it but i want to try and squeeze some tighter groups out of it. so i would like to replace the stock with a thumbhole stock, possibly one that accepts a ching sling, and then pillar and bed the receiver. the trigger feels pretty good right now. i may upgrade at a later time but currently happy with it.
now i am not totally hell-bent on replacing the stock. if the current polymer one can be pillar'd and bedded effectively i may just keep it.
i found a couple different companies that make stocks, but if i am going to go through all of this i want to get the right one for me. what should i be looking for in a stock to be pillared+bedded? can any stock have a ching sling stud added? what mfr's are good?
thanks
