I recently bought a 3913 and when I emailed S&W to get the manufacture date, they first told me that they couldn't find the serial number, then they said that it must have been before they started cataloging that info, so it would be pre 1985, but to my knowledge the 3913 wasn't introduced until 1990. I called the gun shop to verify the serial # and the guy held it in his hand and read it to me three times just to make sure there were no mistakes on my paperwork, but they still insist that it isn't in their system. What's going on here? I bought it from a reputable dealer and I'm picking it up on Saturday. The serial number is TYT6xxx, for those of you who can look it up. As far as I know, the serial looks like a 1992 model.

That's what I was thinking, so why would Smith & Wesson not be able to tell me that? Did I just happen to get the new girl or something?Comment

Still haven't heard back from them. I'll try to email someone else to figure out what's going on.Comment

I think she gave up on me. Does anyone have any suggestions on who to talk to over there? I would like more info but the lady I was dealing with doesn't seem to know what she's doing.Comment
