6 of us were shooting their. i new i was going to go threw a lot of ammo
7.62-39 and 54r plus 223 and 22LR. i had to clean 7 rifles and one hand gun. that was a lot of work , we sure had a good time though. ever shoot a 45-70 single shot pistol ? that thing is a hand killer. no thanks. 4 adults and 2 kids went threw about 1,000 rounds. i am proud of the 10 year old he loves shooting my romanian M-44 mosin. that is a lot of rifle for a 10 year old.
Family shooting is special.

Burro canyon is the best dude. That the only place I go and shoot. They'll allow anything thats legal and not a fire hazard lol including rapid fire

Tell me more about this .45-70 pistol... I've shot a .308 pistol, but not that!

Burro's a great place for a family shoot, and nothing's better than that. I do a lot of Appleseed shoots up at Burro and always smile when folks show up with their kids.

Hope the fire up there gets under control soon. Nearest I can tell its to the east and not moving towards the range, thankfully.

45-70 contender about 25 year old. single shot bullet about the size of a 50 cal pistol bullet. you open the breach and put one bullet in. the barrel is kind of long. i do not know who makes it.

Ah, that would be a Thompson Center Contender. Nice guns. You can get them in many calibers, I seem to recall .375 H&H was one of the choices!

The .308 pistol I shot was a Lone Eagle, brought by a nice chap to a Calguns get-together at Burro Canyon. It was sporty but nothing an experienced shooter would have any trouble with. I rather liked it, actually.

we were up their before the fire started, yes it is a tompson contender 45-70. even my visiting bay area son in law that never shot a gun before had a good time.
