    Questionble eBay Seller

I'm new here and was debating where to post this, but hopefully this is fine. Just for fun, I decided to type in gun parts just to see if they were even allowed to sell any, which they were. Apparently barrels cylinders, hammers etc are ok by eBay policy, but any gun regardless of age or if it's functional or not is a big no no. Kind of surprising to this stuff for sale and not taken down yet.

The seller has a about 4 other incomplete revolvers, as well as other gun parts that are eBay ok. In reality this is the sellers fault not eBay's, but it is still unexpected that it is still up. I don't know if this significant, but I just thought it was worth mentioning.

Ebay is starving for money, I guess amazon is killing them. They start allow gun parts sales a couple of months ago, just no receiver. I sold quite a few magazine, 1911 slide, and barrel there recently.

I think you are right on point with that statement. And it's a good thing. eBay has realized that being anti is a bad business decision. (My opinion).

You have to admit, Amazon really seems to have their thinking caps on. I've been amazed at how this (ALMOST) first of it's kind e-commerce site has really grown from being a copy of the local bookstore to being able to sell just about anything under the sun, including gun scopes, lasers, all kinds of cool stuff.

How many of the original e-commerce sites are still around? Danged few. I'm still amazed at Amazon and able to find books that I sold years ago, no longer in print..

Amazon is more like an e-commerce site, where ebay is more like an e-swap meet.

And a bad swap meet at that. eBay has turned into what I had feared - bad swap meet material. It's no longer America's garage sale.

I used to buy 1930's tube radios there, now it's mostly endless endless techno-garbage.

back in the day... the swap meet was America's garage sale; loved to go treasure hunting at a good swap meet. now, most swap meets are loaded with new crap from overseas that i can get cheaper at the 99 Cent Store; i just don't bother going. i do enjoy going to the big antique flea markets in so cal; my favorite is the big long beach antique flea market; 3rd sunday of every month.

i still find some sleeper deals on ebay, but yea... it's becoming a lesson in redundancy, with "buy it now" sales of samo samo.

Dude, you need H&R parts? I see those all the time at the Alameda antiques fair.

I'd buy from that Ebay seller, he's got a 100% feedback rating AND Ebay and Paypal offer buyer protections. If it's a good deal, go for it.

I don't really need any parts, but I do like the old small top break revolvers. The problem I see here is if the gun is post 1898, and because it does have a complete frame, it would a make it a modern firearm.
