I know much of the NFA stuff doesn't apply to us here in California but I thought this was an interesting video. It looks like some positive changes will be coming in the near future.

Wouldn't it be nice to see Mitt Romney sign a bill that removes all NFA requirements for suppressor ownership and use for hunting and target shooting, along with a preemption requirement against the states?

It's getting better. NFA wait times have been dropping for the past 4-6 weeks and currently wait times are down to 4-5 months instead of 6-7 months. Haven't seen the latest trend line yet, but I hope it continues.
Yes it would be nice if NFA was repealed. It would be nice if one only had to get the NFA background once every 5 years and then everything else bought is simply registered to that person. I have 8 NFA forms in right now and everyone gets to go through the same background and delay. I would bet that half of the forms they get are from repeat buyers (already have at least 1 NFA item). The problem could be solved by simply giving those that have already completed an NFA background check a way to add items to it.

Thank you so much for posting this, i am unfortunately stuck here in CA for a few more months, but i will be returning to free America soon. I have been saving money for NFA items while stuck here, and i plan on a huge NFA spending spree once i get out in about 6 months or so.
i actually let my NRA membership expire because i was highly dissatisfied with their stance on the NFA. that appears to be changing, but i will still withhold re-signing until they go after the Hughes amendment. if they successfully get hughes repealed, i will instantly sign up for a lifetime membership.Comment
