    Grant's guns much improved!

A while ago there was an issue with Grant's Guns and the retailer actually got involved. Since then I've visited them a number of times, and have found them to be much improved.

I'm asked if I need help no less than twice each visit, and am offered suggestions and recommendations when talking to them.

I've posted about my negative experiences with them, and wanted to go on the record with this positive post.

They will be getting my business, and are worth reconsidering for yours.

This is really all the antis have? I suppose they expected the second amendment to list full names and social security numbers!

Not when I was there recently as well.
In fact they were total arrogant jerks about it.
I would be happy to see a change, we need all the retailers and at least friendly FFLs we can get but won't hold my breath.

I was the one that called them out and asked them to explain their stance. They never did answer the question, but they did request that my posts and others be deleted.
I will never go there again.

          WTF?

Did your posts get deleted? They better not have.

The few times I did go down there, I stood around waiting for them to help me with crap behind the counter for 30+ minutes. They never did ask me if I needed anything even though I was the only customer in the firearms area, and 2 of them were yakking away and made eye contact with me.

I've been there 3-4 times with no issues. They were very helpful and friendly.

pnkssbtz, i hear you on that one.

i was in there a few weeks ago looking for a rifle and never got helped, even though i was one of 3 people in the entire store. their prices, selection, service and attitude have always been "less than great" and from the sound of things, it hasn't changed.

that place needs to be run down, paved over, re-built and re-staffed

Grants ordered a special edition Winchester for us to give to one of our employees that was retiring. They handled the whole thing very nicely. I rarely go there though because that area is too crowded for me.

I was in Grant's to do a PPT last month. My experience was positive, the sales people were helpful and we engaged in some nice conversation.

Upon entering their store, I noticed Randy changed their sign to show exemption of a concealed pistol to CCW and LEOs as noted in Randy's previous thread. They get a brownie point for that one.

I guess it depends on who's working that day. I've never been mistreated or subjected to any of the usual gun store idiocy I've seen at other places.

No the posts were not removed however the thread was locked. I was told I could open a new thread to address these questions and as long as it remained civil it would be allowed to stand. But for me that was not necessary, Grant Boys response or lack of was enough for me to realize that they do not have respect for gunowners in general, that is unless they only buy firearms wihich they themselves deem acceptable.

Ran across the two ATF guys from the original Grants Boys thread this week. They were doing a full audit in Huntington Beach. I actually go to met TL and JP. Both are very nice and cordual, one even has a warped dry sense of humor. Both are very knowledge about guns in general. You could tell they both have extensive personal collections.

These guys were a pleasure to talk too. Of course, It wasn't my audit.

Grants is a great place always has been. No they are not OLL friendly and never have been. I wouldn't go there with the intentions of trying to get them to sell me an AR or to educate them because they are just not interested. I also wouldn't go to Ralphs to get a good steak. I would however rather buy a 1022 or shotgun from them before Turners. And as far standing there for "30 min." waiting for someone to say "may I help you sir" give me a break even my 9 and 11 year old sons now how to speak up when they need service.

i went there twice. I never had a problem Once was to get some pants and a holster the other for a PPT. both times everyone was nice. If their stance on OLL are what they are well its their right not to sell that style of gun. And its your right not to buy anything from them. I don't see what the problem is. its their store they can run it as they see fit.

I have been there a few times, pretty good service. Didnt exactly jump up to help but did make more of an effort than I usually get from Turners. Overall positive.
