I doubt this is the "best" but Cash Loans Inc in SSF charges $65 transfer + $25 DROS = $90 (as of a few months ago).

Average in so cal is $75.

I've seen a shop up north people say charges $10 but I'm not sure how much I believe that yet. Feel there is more 2 it. But if not than hopefully the rest catch on.

      Look into it.

We charge $60 and we're near Santa Cruz. CA sales tax must be collected on out of state transfers coming from a dealer/ retailer.

          $10 Transfer (Pistol/Rifle)
          $25 DROS
          State Tax from retailer/dealer

*They do not do Lowers at this time

Cool little place and cool staff people (friendly and can share jokes)

roger's relics, especially if you are dros'ing multiple long guns. it's a discounted rate for additional long guns on the same dros.

cannot mix pistols and long guns though last i recall. at last they won't do it.

they're located in sta clara not far from the saratoga exit on hwy 280. just keep i mind though, if it worth the gas you'll be spending driving up and down to start paperwork, and driving up/down to pick up?

i figure the other place to go in SF would be jackson arms and city arms in pacifica. (to balance out your gas unless you work in the south bay and plan on doing it during your commute/day).

I head down to San Jose often so not that bad. City arms is Pacifica doesn't do online transfer only the one in the east bay does.

I don't mean to thread jack, but why is it so expensive in CA to transfer? In UT and CO it is between 20-30. In CA you're getting a deal if it's less than 60. What gives?
If you are wondering if you can get a LTC in Riverside County: THE ANSWER IS YES!

Mostly because its such a PITA to become a dealer in CA, so they can charge more and the market will still bear it. When you are in other states and have a ton of kitchen table FFL's the rate is a lot lower.
