Please provide a picture of the serial numbered side of the frame.

sounds like a springfield slide on a colt frame. s/n 362783 is a colt frame made in 1918. springfield slides were made from 1914-1917 and ended with serial #127978.

Are you sure it says "Patent Applied For"? All Springfield slides should say "Patented". Does it look like this?

that would be the Colt "Eagle Head" inspection marking. If the frame was springfield it would be a flaming bomb.

From your description it sounds like I said, a springfield slide on a colt frame.

How munch is it worth about? I think it is an arsenal refinish. Parkerized.

depends if it's a mixmaster or government re-arsenal. Does it have any stamps ending with "A", as in "SA, AA, RIA, BA, etc?".

if it's a government re-arsenal in good shape might be worth $1100 or so.
if it's just a mixmaster then $700 or so.

note, springfield small parts (usually marked with an "S") can be worth money. if it retains most of the springfield parts it might be worth more as parts.

great AA = Augusta Arsenal. It's a government rework. Still a mixmaster, but the mixing was done by the government, so it has a little more collector value.

Springfield slide gives it a little more value. My guess $1200 if in good condition. post pics if you can.
