can anyone point in the direction of a definitive ruling on the SKS and C&R status? Are they ever C&R eligible?

Russiana are date coded, so if it's 50 or older then C&R. Yugos are listed C&R, but not dated, so you can't cash n carry in California, but you can buy out of state with an 03 FFL.Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Chinese are not datable, so you can't cash n carry in California or have shipped to you from outside CA.Comment

Chinese SKS are definitely NOT C&R due to the lack of defined production dates (with the exception of Factory 26 production rifles). Any Chinese SKS will need to go through an FFL. I bought a Chinese SKS off of Gunbroker and had to have it sent to my FFL person and wait the 10-day jail sentence.
