    PPT long guns and locks

I was wondering if anyone knew if you need to buy a lock when you PPT a long gun I was under the impression you don't need one if you fill out the safe affidavit.

The gun store employee told the purchaser that the law had changed recently. I argued with him for a bit but the buyer didn't seem to mind so I kind of let it go.

The whole situation kind of pissed me off though because the gun lock was almost $20 I think the total came to about $56 I think they charged him tax on the PPT also.

I tried looking in the Calguns Wiki and I couldn't seem to find the exact law.

But don't be surprised if the lgs gets it wrong. I have had 2 different lgs accept a safe affidavit for handgun purchases and had an lgs (Bullseye in San Rafael) refuse to accept the affidavit for a long gun purchase.
