    3D Printing Gun Project

A few guys at http://defensedistributed.com want to create a fully 3D printable gun that can be printed on hobby 3D printers (Makerbot, RepRap) and have the file freely distributed.

I guess they got inspired by the guy that 3D printed an AR-15 lower. Pretty interesting.

Very interesting. I can't wait until 3D printers are the norm in everyones house.

I don't think I'd trust a 3D printed handgun from an extrusion process, given the inherent weakness of the part as a whole. Maybe if it was a sintered piece. And that's a big maybe.

I'm not letting Justin Timberlake design a gun for me..... The whole concept of a single use fully composite extrusion gun just seems like a bad idea, especially if they do not have a well seasoned gun smith as part of the design process.
