Just got back from SHOT show

    Hi guys,

Just got back from the SHOT show.
I was pretty interesting and some stuff that I just can't live without
and some stuff that I can't have because of our glorious, ever-wise politicians from CA.

One huge regret, I had a digital camera but didn't take it in since the rule prohibit it ("media" only) but I saw too many people who broke this rule.
(I could gotten picture taken with Heather from EAA. I can't even remember a single gun from EAA. )

A few things that I thought were interesting...

    1. Sig 250. With modular "frame" and interchangeable caliber configuration in a single gun. I read about it in the gun magazine but it's way cooler in real life. Can not wait for this to be available. Sig said they already submit it for testing and waiting for the results.

    2. Ruger 10/22 "pistol" - I think it's called a "Charger" with 10" barrel. Very cool and you can use your "banana clip (aka: 25 round or higher)" that was for your 10/22 rifle in this pistol! Please submit it for testing!!!

    3. KenpoProfessor already beat me to this but Ruger pistol LCP, very slick, similar to Kel-Tec but much slimmer pistol in 380 but, probably not going to be available in CA. (Funny story: I was at the booth and FBI guys who does the computer background check came by and wanted to purchase this pistol at the spot. They are trying to figure out how to "clear" themselves to buy this. One person thought he could but the other was also certain that he couldn't. )

    4. Sig 556 CA- version from SIG will be available in a few months. No flashhider/muzzle brake, pinned stock & some kind of "bullet button" type of mag lock.

    5. MagPul was going to build the rifle called "Masada" but now it turns out the Bushmaster will be licensed to build this rifle. It will be available to LE/GOV in the second quarter and later be available to lowly civilians.

    6. Got to play with H&K 45C. It's very well made and very good trigger for a combat gun. Gotta have one. But, I was told that very limited number of them made into US and chance of being submitted for CA testing is - well let's just say that I think I would have a better chance of landing a date w/one of the Victoria Secret model than this pistol made available in CA.

    Just a few random thoughts.

So the pinned mag Sig 556 is being marketed by Sig as a CA compliant rifle?

Thats awesome.... I hope other manufacturers take notice that we can get cool toys here (albeit with some small modifications) and start selling directly to our occupied state....

According the people that I talked to at the SHOT show today, within a few months, they will make their version of CA complaint rifle available to CA with the features mentioned above. In fact, they wanted to know if I would like to order some in advance to qualify for the dealer pricing.

Just a point of clarification, I am not in the firearms business. I just got a free ticket from a friend of mine who is in the business.

I also heard from several sources before the SHOT show that SIG was looking at introducing a Cali-Compliant SIG556.

It is AWSOME to see a mfg. like SIG recognize California.

I might have to just buy one to reward them!

                ( Plus, it's a cool rifle. )

                    Wise a**!

Sorry, late night posting is not conducive to accuracy. Of course, any 10/22 rifle magazine can be used in 10/22 pistol. 10-round, 25-round, 50-round and more...

Yes, but that pistol would be considered an assault weapon, as the magazine is outside the PG.

About the SIG556... why are they removing the muzzle brake/FH and fixing the stock? With a bullet button that's meaningless... someone needs to school them on the laws.

Sig will be using a new stock which will be similar to a traditional stock eliminating the pistol grip. The other 556 will utilize either a prince 50 type lock or a bullet button.
It's better to have it, and not need it, then to need it, and not have it.

Did anyone stop by the surplus dealers/importers and see what is coming into the country in 2008? Ammo, parts kits, furniture, mags, ect. Did anyone ask the barrel manufacturers if they will be making AK barrels with perfect contours and chromed? Are any manufactures going to make PSL furniture? Were the Calgunners who went to the show passing out copies of this:

to counter the massive amounts of FUD filled in the heads of out of state vendors by the DOJ. I can't stand the "not for sale to California" disclaimer for stuff that is legal. Like mag repair parts.
